The Basics of Baccarat

In online baccarat, the cards all stand for their face value with the exception of 10, Jack, Queen and King which all equal the to 0. Both the player and the banker are dealt two cards each, and in some cases according to third card rules, both or one of them could be dealt a third card. If the player or banker’s cards total 8 or 9, then no third card will be dealt and they must stand. If the player has a total of 5 or less then he will be dealt a third card. If the banker has a total of 5 or less, and the player stands, then the banker will receive a third card. The values of the cards are added up but if, for example, your cards equal the amount of 16 then the last number will be taken as your figure. So in this case you would have scored a 6. Cards that equal 0 are Baccarat, the worst hand possible.

How to Win

In baccarat, the player may bet on the banker, on himself or on a tie. Once the bet is placed, then the cards are dealt and the winner is determined. Betting on a tie and actually winning the hand provides the largest return in online baccarat. If your hands tie and you did not bet on a tie then your bet is returned to you.
